How your data is stored and backed up in MGH Books, your responsibilities, and the limits of our liability for any data loss — in compliance with Indian law.
Last updated: 21 June 2026MGH Books is designed to keep your business running fast and offline-capable. Your data is held in two places:
When you are signed in and connected, the Platform syncs your local data to our servers and maintains rotated server-side backups. This significantly improves durability. However, sync depends on you being signed in to your cloud account and connected; data created while offline or in a local-only session reaches the server only after a successful sync.
Regardless of our server backups, you are responsible for keeping your own independent backups of your data. MGH Books provides easy in-app tools to do this:
We recommend exporting a backup at least weekly, and always before: clearing browser data, reinstalling/updating your browser or OS, switching devices, or ending a session on a shared computer.
Because part of your data lives in your own browser and environment, certain actions or events outside our control can cause partial or total loss of locally-held data, including:
To the maximum extent permitted under applicable Indian law, Mystical Home Decor Products and the MGH Books brand, and their owners, employees, contractors and partners, shall not be liable for any loss, corruption, deletion, inaccessibility or unavailability of your data — whether stored locally, in transit, or on our servers — arising from any cause whatsoever, including but not limited to the circumstances listed in §4, software errors, sync failures, hosting/infrastructure issues, security incidents, or force majeure.
The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that data will be preserved without interruption or loss. Your sole and exclusive remedy is to restore from your own backups and our available server backups. This limitation is a fundamental basis of the agreement between us and applies even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Our aggregate liability, if any, is capped as set out in §13 of the Terms of Service (and is nil for free plans).
While liability is limited as above, we do take reasonable security practices and procedures as required under Section 43A of the IT Act, 2000 and the SPDI Rules, 2011, including: password hashing, TLS/HTTPS encryption in transit, CSRF protection, rate-limiting and brute-force lockouts, access controls, and rotated, compressed server backups. No system, however, can be guaranteed to be fully secure or loss-proof.
In the event of a personal-data breach that is likely to affect you, we will take reasonable steps to contain it and will notify affected users and the relevant authorities (e.g. CERT-In / the Data Protection Board) as and to the extent required under the IT Act, 2000, CERT-In Directions (2022) and the DPDP Act, 2023.
You can export your data at any time using the in-app Backup/Export tools (JSON), and export reports/registers as PDF/CSV/Excel/Tally XML. On account closure you may export your data before deletion, subject to legal retention requirements for tax and accounting records.
